Native 64 Bit Computing

With version 4.0, EazyDraw is provided as a Universal 64 / 32 Bit Binary. This means EazyDraw will take full advantage of your CPU's 64 bit computing power. Todays top-of-the-line CPUs built with high precision 64 bit hardware. To get maximum performance an application binary needs to be compiled for native 64 bit computing - EazyDraw version 4 now provides native 64 bit support. A few lower cost and older cpus require 32 bit binary applications, EazyDraw is built with a universal binary that supports both 32 and 64 architectures.

Many of todays vector drawing needs actually require the improved accuracy of 64 bit computing. 32 bit precision only provides about 6 decimal points of precision, 64 bit extends internal computation accuracies to 12 to 14 decimal places. This is important for mapping applications and import of DXF drawings from high performance CAD programs. EazyDraw's DXF import has been enhanced to take full advantage of the extended accuracies, version 4 has a new DXF preview interactive analysis to assist in setting scaling and printing parameters correctlhy for an imported DXF drawing.

At the Cross Roads of Graphic File Formats

EazyDraw is true native OS X application. Graphic exchange with other modern OS X application is quite seamless with full vector quality support for SVG, PDF and EPS. EazyDraw provides both export and import for DXF (Autodesk - AutoCAD Drawing Exchange Format) and SVG. This facilitates workflows for the technical drawing community, web publishing, and artistic endeavors. Full round trip editing of PDF is provided with the Ungroup PDF feature.

EazyDraw provides a rich suite of supported graphic file formats for both import and export. This will allow you to use or provide high quality graphic images to or from other applications, other operating systems or the web. And, of course, full seamless support for PDF is "built in" since EazyDraw is a true native Mac OS X application. In most cases you should not need to involve a separate graphic converter application in your work flow. Our "ungroup" capability will let you edit PDF, EPS and PICT content.

EazyDraw version 4 no longer supports import of MacDraw, MacDrawII, MacDrawPro, ClarisDraw or AppleWorks drawings. To import these drawings a retro-version of EazyDraw is provided. This version of EazyDraw still supports these retro-drawings and the import and coversion of PICT vector images. The "retro-version" runs on OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7 (current Lion release), imported drawings are then saved in EazyDraw graphic format (or SVG, PDF, ... ) for use on the current OS X technology and EazyDraw version 4. The retro-version is provided on CD with the CD and Boxed versions of EazyDraw.

Software developers on Apple iOS and MacOS will find native support for creation of the required logos, app-icons, and screen images. Page Setup has electronic virtual printer settings for the defined image and icon specifications set by Apple.

Electronic publishing is supported with vector PDF and EPS import and export. Color space management (RGB and CMYK - with transparency) and conversion is provided with our professionally grade Export panel for these industry standard formats. Nearly all publishing or printing companies will accept the EPS vector format for graphics and typeset text. Professionals and perfectionist avoid font problems by converting type set text to Bezier paths before exporting to EPS, EazyDraw lets you do the same with a simple menu click.
